Kaikoura we care……

A couple of weeks ago Peggy and I whipped up a two quilts for Aotearoa Quilters appeal:

Cosy Kiwi Kids
Aotearoa Quilters have been making and sharing quilts for the Cosy Kiwi Kids in the North Island. They have been very well received and it has helped to keep kids warm in homes that are cold and damp.
Bobby Duncan heads an industrious team of volunteers, making sure tops or unfinished quilts donated are completed ready to meet their new owners. This is her update.
"In all we have had 612 quilts (either finished or just tops) donated.  250 were sent to Porirua, 244 have gone to Rotorua.  There are 20 finished with Bobby at the moment , 8 out for binding, 12 out for quilting and 78 tops still to be quilted.  There have been 62 tops quilted so far."
We are getting ready to donate the next batch to the community in Kaikoura and surrounding towns who suffered such loss in the earthquake on November 14th.
Cot and single size quilts are always welcome. When you send or deliver your quilts, please let Bobby know where you would like your quilts to go.
If you have quilts you would like to donate please send them to Bobby as detailed below

  1. The children will be delighted to receive something so beautiful. The quilts will no doubt absorb tears of frustration from their little owners but will also provide a comforting hug in times of need. God Bless you for donating these beauties.
