Sweet Peas

Our busy ladies gathered at our house this week.

Trish has made an apron using a pattern her Grandmother made for her Wedding Tea many years ago. The apron is quite different as it is made of  two separate pieces shaped like long petals. These are attached to a neck band. This makes the  apron is easily adjustable. I found this similar pattern on the net -

Margaret kindly modelled Trish’s apron for us.

This is Rochelle’s BOM from Cloth Shop. I love that touch of electric blue. Do you see the wavy black frame? That’s jumbo rick rack.

Debbie has been beavering away making Advent Calendars. Each one different. Debbie doesn’t use a pattern for these she just gets right in and sews them. Too clever.

Margaret has just completed this Japanese themed wall hanging. Margaret’s straight line quilting is perfect for this piece. Hershey loves Margaret, he seemed to feel he was the star of the show.

Finally from the good things take time file:

Peggy bought a package of half square triangles way back in 2010. Recently when she was having a wee tidy up I spotted them and suggested she turn them into a table runner.A couple of days later this was the result.

Bye for now.

Giddy up

Jo made this quilt featuring horses for her nine year old grand daughter who lives in Germany. Apparently she is horse crazy, all she wanted on her quilt was horses. So horses she got:
Giddy up one Horse quilt
I stitched around each group of horses and squiggled some ripples in between.
Giddy up three
Jo added horse shoes at each corner. I popped a special bit of stitching in each one. She also asked for some hearts n the stitching so I popped some in at random.
Giddy up two
I hope this makes one little girl in Germany very happy.
Thank you asking me to quilt for you Jo.
