On our way to Plymouth.....

......we stopped at Paignton beach for lunch. We were tickled to see all these tiny beach huts along the seafront.

Most of these are owned by the Council who rent them out for £500 (NZ$1200) a season! Oh, and for that price you get two deck chairs as well!  Some are privately owned but must be removed after summer. The Council also move theirs when the season is over. There are strict rules about how they must be painted and kept.

Some people just sit by their huts in their deck chairs on the hot asphalt. Seems a funny thing to got the beach to do.

The beach huts certainly look very cute and add colour to the scene.

Another little slice of English life.

I love hearing from you - write now!
