Return to Atlantis….

………the fabric in this quilt was designed by Jason Yenter. A vibrant dramatic fabric collection.

Lots of interesting quilting opportunities with this quilt. In these blocks I quilted wavy lies which made me think of seaweed:

The Mariner compass type stars were quite a challenge. What to stitch in those large plain blue areas? In the end I decided that straight lines with an orange variegated thread would provide  interest and allow the fussy cut points to be the star of the block.

Hard to see but those red points have pebbles in them.Here’s a closer look with one quarter star in the corner:

I spent a lot of time on those dark triangles. Lots of lines with teeny tiny squiggles in between.
