Sunday Sundries….

It’s a real winter’s day here in Taupo. Lots of rain, look at this sky:

Never mind they say it’s snowing on them there mountains so that will keep the skiers happy.

Puss cats of course know just what to do on such a miserable day.

Our new “Loving Memory” rose is thriving in spite of living cosy inside in the sun room before it was planted out. We have had several heavy frosts but this rose hasn’t paused for a moment.

Perfect weather for a bit of stitching. Sweet Peas Row x Row continues:

Speaking of Sweet Peas, we met on Wednesday. Moira has been busy stitching and patch working an adorable Teddies, Cakes and Tea quilt top. As per usual Moira’s stitching and colour choices are spot on.

  1. Hello Linda,
What a lovely rose you have chosen to remember your Husband, I am sure it will bloom for you soon.
I love your view, a good day to be inside nice and warm. The Teddies in a teacup is such a cute quilt.

    Happy days.
    Bev.

  2. Wonder what colour the roses will be when your shrub blooms, Lovely to have a rose in DH`s memory. I have one in my garden in memory of Mum who we lost in 2006 aged 92, it has been tremendous this year but will hard prune it in the autumn as it is so big. Love the embroidery with the quilting, I must have a go as I came to quilting vie embroidery. Here in the UK we have enjoyed some glorious weather, reminds me of the lovely summers we used to have when I was young!

  3. I think there was a rose of that name when we came here, deep glorious red, if I remember. Love the quilt blocks ready for something? Super colour combos, and a teddy quilt, perfect, talking of purrfect, they look so cosy. Hugs, Jean.

  5. Moira's quilt is wonderful and yes, colors are spot on. Love seeing the embroidery in blocks. Enjoy stitching Row x Row, great colors there too! Wish I could send you some of our heat, we have too much on this side of the planet right now! The rose is perfect, bear hugs, Jo

  6. Moira's embroidery is lovely - not many people stitch anymore.

Even though I grumble about winter, I love being able to settle in and sew and/or knit during nasty weather.

Can't wait to see the blooms that will appear on the Rose bush.
