I’m back!

Thank you all for your kind messages of sympathy. I have tried to reply to you all personally. If I haven’t please forgive me. I did appreciate each and every message I received. I’m lucky that I knew the love of such a good man. We had many adventures together; I have lots of happy memories. We had over thirty content years together.

Thank you also for messages about my knee surgery. Seven weeks since I received my new body parts, they don’t feel like invaders anymore.

…….so my knee is healing well, it’s just my heart that is taking longer.

My energy levels are still not great but I have managed to quilt one small cot panel quilt for Debbie’s new Grandson Jaxon:

Jaxon one

Bright and colourful, such fun to stitch:

Jaxon two

Peggy’s magic binding brings just the right pop of colour to the edge:

and the label….

Here’s hoping I’ll be back to more quilting soon.

  1. Hi Linda

I'm so glad you are back. As you say, you have any happy memories of your years together. But the hurting will take a long time to fade. Luckily you have your family and friends to comfort you.

  2. The heart will heal slowly and you will look back and remember all the happy years you spent together, now though it does not seem like that, I will continue to remember you in my prayers at this very sad time. Good to hear the knee is healing well. What a delightful baby quilt and love the label you have made for it, hopefully he will not be sick on it!

  3. Heal slowly, tears and memories will all be part of that. Lovely quilting, and what a label, Hugs and caring thoughts, Jean.

  4. A happy post!
Cute cot quilt, I love the label & binding.

  5. Healing of heart and body take time and can't be rushed.

Love the happy quilt and especially the label.

Wow! How completely wonderful!! The pain softens.
Your new quilt is so fun and gorgeous! I adore the label!! I just made and gave a baby quilt away and I wish my label had been so poignant! :))

  7. Dear Linda, so lovely to have you back.
A broken heart takes longer to heal, so be kind to yourself and take comfort in the beautiful memories that you shared.
Gorgeous quilt, that little one is going to have so much fun on it...
    Julia ♥

  8. Oh Linda, I am so sorry, and I apologize for my lack of blog checking. I just now read about your husband passing, and my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry, and I cannot imagine the emotional pain plus the physical pain all at once. I do apologize for not responding sooner. I am glad you are healing, it takes time, so allow yourself that.
Your latest quilt is darling. Quilting can help. My prayers are with you.

  9. Very happy to see you back and spending a little time with Bertha. Love how you quilted this adorable baby quilt. Very cute! Quilting is the best therapy! Be kind to yourself and allow time to heal, both your knee and especially your heart. Bear hugs, Jo
