Taking time to smell the roses…..

The last 48 hours have been a bit of a roller coaster ride dealing with health issues. This morning our good friend Debbie offered to come and sit with Glynn while Peggy and I took a break.
So coffee it was at our favourite coffee shop Piccolo.

After yummy cheese scone and coffee we headed for Riverside Market. We bought nice fresh vegetables, including our first green beans of the season, and new potatoes. I can see one of our
favourite dishes Potatoes, beans and bacon on the menu in the next few days.

Next it was off to the Taupo Rose Gardens to, well, smell the roses. The air was full of perfume and the roses are all in tip top condition. If you are ever in Taupo this is a lovely spot to visit. In the centre of the garden there is a large summer house which is often used for weddings and family celebrations.

  3. Sounds like some time out was just what you needed. I love shopping at farmer's markets...I always come home with something I've never tried before and then spend some creative time in the kitchen.
