Something a little different

When I was teaching at Clever Hands last weekend Jane came in to show us her creative story quilt. Jane is very much into recycling and repurposing. The base of her quilt is a recycled blanket which she has hand stitched 3 rows of fancy stitches around. She has used fussy cut bark cloth to create “beds” of flowers on the background. This he stitched down in Broderie Perse style.

Then the fun part, she made lots of little dolls to represent special women in her life. These tuck into bands on the quilt. Her friends are having a garden party together.

I’m sorry I didn’t get a picture of the whole quilt flat but here are a  couple more glimpses:

Very different and creative. Thanks for sharing Jane.

  1. Love that quilt and the dollies.

  2. What an amazingly creative idea. That really is quite different to anything Ive seen before and cute to boot!

  3. How clever and unique. I know if I am looking forward to your machines arrival, you must be on the edge of your seat. Any news?

I love hearing from you - write now!
