How could anyone send this to the Op Shop?

Look at this wonderful Cross stitch:

Teddy bear cross stitch

When I saw this it was crumpled and stained but couldn’t leave it behind could I?

A good soak in Sard and then dash of Janola and it has been totally transformed.

Hours and hours of work beautifully executed.

You want to know how much I paid for this don’t you?

That has to be the Opshop buy of the week.

Linking with Blackbird has spoken Op Shop Show off

  1. Hello Linda,

Oh my goodness, only 2 dollars. Are you going to put it into a quilt /cushion or get it framed?
So glad the cross stitch found you.

    Happy days.

  2. Linda that is a wonderful piece of stitchery, our daughter's mum-in-law did ones like that, and framed they are extra lovely. It now has a wonderful new home. Greetings from Jean.

  3. it must have been a gift, surely the person who put ALL THAT WORK into it couldn't have just slipped it into a bag and took it to the oppy alongside a load of random bric-a-brac!!! so pleased to hear it has found a more appreciative home x

  4. Such a lot of beautiful work - it is so sad that treasures like this are not appreciated. So pleased you found it.

  5. I recognise this!! But it wasn't me that stitched your opshop find, I stitched my version when I was expecting our first baby, and I would be very cross if any of my family ever send it to an opshop! Here is my one framed somewhere in this post....
What a shame someone didn't care for this one, you've made a lovely job of restoring it.

  6. I angers me when people do not appreciate needlework - the time and love that went into making it. So glad that you rescued this piece and adopted it.

  7. I would have been on that like a seagull on a chip. It'd look lovely in a frame and in a baby nursery.

Whoever got rid of that probably didnt have a clue how much time and effort went into making it. Obviously.

I love hearing from you - write now!
