Beginner’s Bouquet

Now that the quilt show has started I can show you a couple of quilts I have been working on. This is Maxie’s Beginner’s Bouquet.

This was the first quilt that Maxie made. I think it is amazing for a first quilt. I wanted to quilt the log cabins in a way that  made them look a little different. So I stitched curved lines in the dark side of the cabins:

And curved lines into the base of the centre flower block:

Orange peels in the triangle bocks and the corner stones:

Then back to stitch McDazzle in the setting triangles in the centre block and the sunshine side of the log cabins:

Outline stitching around the applique and smaller McDazzle.
