For many years now Taupo Quiltmakers and Ruapehu Quilters (they’re from Taumarunui) have gathered at Lindsey’s Holiday Home at Kuratau. We have a lovely few hours together. First yummy morning tea then some show and tell – followed by more yum food and more show and tell.
This is the holiday home and deck which we were able to sit out on:

Now for some show and tell:
A super stash buster quilt
Waste not, want not. This quilt was made with left over triangles from another project.
Two Kaleidoscope plus applique quilts made at the same class with quite different results.
I love the lime green zing in this one.
This small wool quilt had everyone oohing and ahhhing. I think the background fabric is very clever. It makes the quilt look lit up from within.
Kaffe crossed with Gwen Marsden
Fabulous curved piecing
Modern look with raw edge applique
Lindsey our host makes very interesting cushions with crochet dollies stitched onto old woollen blankets. She even used the satin bound edge of the blanket for finishing the opening on the back.
Alison made this super bag using dollies for decoration and pockets. Too clever
Even these old codgers got in on the act:
Not sure if the regal one approved
Sorry some of the photos are not so good – it was a case of grab them when you can. I could have put loads more in but I think that is enough for one day.
