Nature Study

I was visiting Freshly Pieced today. She is having a give away, to be in the draw you need to submit a comment about your favourite memory involving nature.
That brought to mind my favourite memory:
Our Mother was always very good at spotting opportunities to expand our knowledge. One day she rounded us up and took us to the pumpkin patch to watch the pumpkins grow. Yes, it’s true. The pumpkins were at that very fast growing stage. She sat us down with a small stick each and  twisted the little curling frond at the end of a pumpkin stalk around the stick. We sat quietly and watched the pumpkin continue to grow and twist around the stick. True I kid you not.
Just like this picture I found on Google.
Try it with your children, they will love it.
Thanks for popping by.
